Miles had strep throat over the weekend. Not such a good time!
(Incidentally: How can a THROAT ailment affect both the stomach and bowels? One of life's little mysteries, for sure.)
Anyway, we were in a doctor's office on Friday, waiting and waiting in our exam room, when we heard a baby crying in a room nearby. I said, "That sounds like an upset baby, huh?"
M: "Yeah. He probably doesn't like going to the doctor's."
Me: "Hmmm... Maybe. He just doesn't understand what's happening to him. But you're not crying. You're being GREAT, and very patient, because you know coming to the doctor will make you better faster. It's too bad we can't explain things to babies like we can to 5-year-olds."
M: "Yeah. It's because we don't speak their language."
