Wit & Wisdom

Excerpt from actual conversation in our TV room tonight:
Mom: "What is this? A bowl game on a Tuesday night? And the most important bowl game of the year?!"
Dad: "Yep."
Mom: "Why?"
Dad: "Ehn. (Grunt, then shrug.) It's called greed and corruption."
Two-year-old: "No, Daddy! It's called FOOTBALL!"

I have learned other things, of late, from my child. The things are often proclaimed in increasingly boisterous tones, with emphatic hand gestures. They include:
* "Snowmen don't wear Santa hats!" (Then, an aside: " Silly, Mama.")
* "Ketchup and mustard go great together! They're FRIENDS!"
* "The star belongs with the moon. They live together because (dramatic pause) they are A FAMILY!"
* "It's a red light up there. That means, SLOW DOWN, DADDY!!"
